This section explains additional settings to enable background tracking for the following Android models. Make sure that you have
exclude the app from battery optimization first.
Samsung
- Android v9 or newer does not need to set this setting.
- Android v7 or v8, go to Settings -> Device Maintenance -> Battery -> Unmonitored Apps. Add the FollowMee app to the Unmonitored Apps list.
- Android v6 or older, go to Settings -> Battery -> App Power Saving -> Detail. Disable this setting for the FollowMee app.
Huawei

Android v8 or newer, go to Settings -> Battery -> Launch. Turn off this setting "Manage Automatically" so that "Manage Manually" is shown.
- Android v7, go to Settings -> Battery -> Lock Screen Cleanup. Disable this setting for the FollowMee app so that "Don't Close" is shown.
- Android v6 or older, go to Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Battery Manager -> Protected Apps. Enable this setting for the FollowMee app so that "Protected" is shown.
Sony
For Sony devices, go to Settings -> Battery -> Stamina Mode. Turn off this setting.
Xiaomi
For Xiaomi devices, you need the following three changes.
- Go to Settings -> Battery -> Manage Apps' Battery Usage -> Choose Apps. Select the FollowMee app, and choose "No Restrictions".
- Go to Settings -> Permissions -> Autostart. Enable this setting for the FollowMee app.
- Go to Settings -> Battery -> Power -> Power Saver. Set "Turn off mobile data when device is locked" to "Never".
Elephone
For Elephone devices, go to Settings -> Background Task Clear. Select the FollowMee app to add it on the "White List".
Asus
For Asus device, open the app "Asus Mobile Manager". Then select "Auto-start Manager". Make sure that the FollowMee app is allowed for auto-start.
OPPO
For OPPO devices, open the app "Security" -> Privacy Permissions -> Startup Manager. Allow the FollowMee app to startup in background.
